Syllabus:

Class Page: 

My classes will be using Microsoft Teams as their class page where they will find handouts, notes from class, Power Points, discussion boards among others.  

Update as of 3/23/2020:

Please make sure that you are checking your school email account periodically for announcements and learning resources. I will be also using Microsoft Teams to post various resources to keep you reviewing what we have learned this quarter. I encourage you to use it as much as you can. 

Q3 Targets:

ELD 9

9.3 The student will apply knowledge of word origins, derivations, and figurative language to extend vocabulary development in authentic texts.

9.4 The student will read, comprehend, and analyze a variety of fictional texts including narratives, literary nonfiction, poetry, and drama.

9.5 The student will read and analyze a variety of nonfiction texts. 

9.6 The student will write in a variety of forms to include expository, persuasive, reflective, and analytic with an emphasis on persuasion and analysis. 

ELD 10-11

10.1 The student will participate in, collaborate in, and report on small-group learning activities.  

10.2 The student will analyze, produce, and examine similarities and differences between visual and verbal media messages. 

10.3 The student will apply knowledge of word origins, derivations, and figurative language to extend vocabulary development in authentic texts. 

10.4 The student will read, comprehend, and analyze literary texts of different cultures and eras. 

10.8 The student will collect, evaluate, organize, and present information to create a research product.

11.1 The student will make informative and persuasive presentations.
